Dawn, Jeff, & Chris. Welcome you to the Farberhaus.

 The Farberhaus

We Come from a little town on the East coast of England called Lowestoft, just 120 miles north east of London. It all started in 2005 when after 27 years in a joinery company left and started back at a Honda dealership selling motorcycles, a passion of mine since i was a child, and my wife at that time a mobil hairdresser. After the death of my mother-in-law in1992 we gave our children a choice to go to America or to go a skiing holiday   they picked skiing and from that year on we tried to take them every year and after sking 15 years in Austria fell in love with the whole idea of possibly being able to live the dream of owning a guesthaus in Austria. We first started looking over 4 years ago first finding out whether or not it would be possible to buy in Austria, so after doing some serious homework found out it was and set to work selling our house in the UK. While the house was up for sale we visited Austria 5-6 times a year just looking for the perfect location and to a village that would have possibilities of growing in the future but still keeping its charm, so in the mean time we took private German lessons every week easier said than done when getting a little older, but learnt alot.

So in nov 2006 we eventually sold our house and moved into rented accomodation just waiting for the time we would find the perfect house not just for us but it was very important for our future guests to  have every amenerty close by .  So the years came and passed and eventually in oct 2008 a house came up for sale a little older than what we wanted but in the perfect little village of Lofer just 35 mins drive from Salzburg airport, the house was just 3 mins walk from the village and only 4 mins slow walk th the ski lift ideal for guest to stagger back from that evening meal and of course a beer. The house needed some serious renovation to make it comfortable for all our guests. June 29th came we packed our furniture and belongings and with a 7.5 ton truck and 2 cars fully loaded travelled to Austria, an adventure in its self and settled in .We had an idea of what we wanted so builders were contacted and after a few weeks planes were made for the renovations to start late August and was told 3-4 weeks for completion December 24th came and all major work was finished only 12 weeks late. Christmas day came and our first guests arrived from Holland and had been staying at the Farberhaus for the last 8 years and were so supprised to find that all double rooms now had en-suits and a guest lounge with a woodburner.. Since opening we are constantly working on the house to make it better as a 200 year old property is an ongoing project and with a full time jobs to hold down our working day for the 3 of us never stops. So come visit us for the perfect holiday in summer or winter there is possibly not an outdoor activity we can't arrange.
