Lofer The Picturesque village of Lofer is situated 500m above sea level. Where access to the ski lift is just 4 minutes walk away. The resort offers, nearly 60km of groomed and off piste skiing, where there are 50 snow cannons make this a snow sure resort. The highest peak reaching around 1700 meters, and with runs down to the resort. The whole area is ideal for the family, whether advanced, or those of you who are just getting their ski legs. The Resort Offers : Ski School Lofer offers excellent ski tuition, for any age and ability, for groups or individuals. Also Lofer offers a fantastic kids club, where you can leave the kids and enjoy a fun days skiing. Cross Country Skiing For those of you who like the healthy option, cross country skiing is the way to go. You can be as active, or relaxed as you like, with a total of 37km of tracks available from Lofer to St Martin.  Snowboarding For those of you who are boarders, everything is available here. Ranging from schooling, to fun park with half pipe, to off piste. If you are new to this sport, the Herbest ski school will gladly help. Ice Skating You have the possibilities to ice skate in each of the 4 locations, Lofer, St Martin, Unken and Weißach. These at night, are flood lit, and offer boot hire at each location. Toboggan Runs Tobogganing really makes this a proper fun winter holiday. When you can relax after all that fun with a hot Glühwein. Toboggans available from most sports shop for hire. Sleigh Rides What could be more romantic than a ride with a horse and sleigh, through the deeply snowed Countryside of the Saalachtal. Just climb aboard, cover yourself with a warm blanket, with a hip flask of your desired schnapps, and let the evenings sunset work its magic. Trips from mid December right through to Mid March.
